A.J. Fikry leads a solitary life as the owner of Island Books: his wife has died unexpectedly and he spends more time arguing with his neighbors than trying to find ways to move his life in a different direction. Enter the quirky, Amelia, a rep for a publishing house, and add to the mix an abandoned little girl who has been left in one of the bookstore’s aisles, and Fikry’s life starts to get some spunk back. This is a book lover’s delight.
