This was the LAST book that I thought I would love: it’s about endurance running. But that’s not really all it’s about. McDougall researches the Tarahumara Indian tribe in Mexico to understand how they’re able to run so far – and for so long. Through his research we meet wonderful characters and learn a great deal about motivation, the human body and a different culture. A big thanks to Bridget P-G for the recommendation.
Great for:
• Runners (or as a present for the runner in your life).
• Those who enjoy non-fiction and have already judged this as a book they would never read.
• Anyone interested in anthropology.
