After the death of her grandmother, Iris is summoned back to her grandparents’ farmhouse where she had spent all of her holidays as a girl where she learns that that she has, surprisingly, inherited the family home. However, this is no ordinary house: it’s a place where the preserves taste of tears, grief causes red currents to turn white, electricity sometimes shoots from finger tips, and love causes apple trees to blossom. A place where memories are both kept – and lost.

Perfect for:

  • Lovers of slower-paced, family sagas.
  • Readers who enjoy magical realism.
  • Anyone interested in the role of memory.
