Many ‘meh’ books for me this year. But these reads really got me.

Stay tuned for Part II tomorrow.

My Favourite Read of 2017: meticulously researched, gorgeously plotted, Amor Towles’ historical novel follows Count Alexander Rostov, sentenced, by the Bolsheviks, to a life under house arrest in Moscow’s Metropol Hotel, under whose luxurious-yet-fading roof we see Russian history unfold in all its glory, absurdity and life-encompassing humanity. A brilliant novel.
